LB73 masquerades as a Nebraska idea, but it comes from a nationwide group of Christian Nationalists called Project Blitz.
You'll read that it's the first recommended legislation in a long list. Each step in the list is designed to build on the last, tearing down religious freedom step by step.
The document outlines a three stage strategy. Stage one is to introduce religious symbols into government and pretend that they are nonreligious in nature. Stage two is to introduce explicitly Christian content. Stage three is to take rights away from LGBT and non-Christian people.
Though LB73 is being considered by the Education Committee, it's purpose is not education. It is to produce court rulings that will be useful in the later stages.
